A stew mix with dried barley and dried vegetables including potato, onion, carrot, cabbage & leek, flavoured with lamb stock. This is a traditional Welsh recipe which can either be made as a casserole with some lamb, or in a slow cooker. The barley really expands and makes this a tasty dish which is quite heavy on the leeks. Feel free to add more veg if required. Serve with chunks of crusty bread and sprinkle some cheese on the top and pop under the grill for a few minutes to brown. Add contents of the packet mix, including the stock sachet, into a casserole dish and add the lamb. Add 1500ml of cold water. Stir, cover and cook in a pre-heated oven at 200˚ (fan assisted 180) for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Season to taste. Can also be cooked on a hob or in a slow cooker.
