Description
These are handwoven by women in the Buhera region, in southeastern Zimbabwe. Traditional Buhera Baskets are hand woven out of local grasses that are super durable and meant to last a long time, because they were used to store and carry grains. Each Buhera Basket is individually handmade and vary in size, natural shading and shape, giving each basket its unique character. Because their shapes aren't completely standard, they are measured by contour, starting at the bottom to the edge of opening at the top. XX LARGE 28-32" Please see chart for approximate sizing.

The products are not at all the dimensions indicated on the site. My console measures 72 cm. The large one ordered was listed as 76 on the site and I received 62. The medium one ordered was listed as 66 on the site, I received 50, and the small one ordered was listed as 45.7 on the site and it is 34.

The Buhera Baskets are sized by the contour, not the height, due to the organic nature of the basket's shape. I find it annoying that there are no official documents available for the import duties that need to be paid at the time of delivery. I asked to pay by credit card and the driver needed to come back because he did not have a payment terminal with him. The next day he came back, I paid by MC but there are no official documents for my accountancy available.
