Boat: 23cm x 9cm x 7.5cm Base: 26cm x 10cm x 3cm Hand Carved from sustainable mahogany and hand painted The Bluebird K7 Boat was constructed in the UK by Samlesbury Engineering, for Donald Campbell for him to attempt to break the world speed record on water. The boat a revolutionary hydroplane was powered by a turbo jet engine and was launched in 1955. Campbell and K7 added almost 100mph to the World Speed Record taking it to just over 328mph. Donald Campbell was killed in an attempt at his 8th world record on 4th January 1967 (50 Year ago) on Coniston Water in the Lake District England.
