Description
Checkout this beautiful strand of white sandcast beads from Ghana, West Africa. The process of making these beads is unique to Africa and has been used for over 1000 years. Pulverized glass of various colors is poured into a clay mold, using a cassava stem for the bead's hole. The mold is placed in a furnace and heated until the glass particles congeal without actually melting and the stem burns out. The Ghanaians have been making beads in this manner since the 1600s.

I googled pricing after receiving my products because I couldn't believe the pricing that I was having to mark these for the size that they are. (Many lengths are left off their descriptions). I found that their website thebeadchest.com sells direct to customers for $2 or less over what we buy it for depending on how many the customer purchases AND free shipping over $99. I paid nearly $30 on an almost $400 order. Will be returning.
