Description
These curious growing spheres are made from a chemical known as a super absorbent polymer (or SAP). SAPs are amazing materials. They are long chains of molecules that join together in a net-like pattern. Water is pulled in through the holes of the net. then the molecule chains soak up tremendous amounts of water. When the molecules absorb water, they swell and soften and transform into a hydrogel water bead. Swell! We've been buying from Copernicus for some time (pre-Faire) and always delighted with their products. It's mostly grab-and-go impulse buy type items of the sort you'd find at a science museum gift shop, and some that your parents probably had when they were kids. Glux does particularly well at a B&M checkout counter, and we often got asked for bulk orders for birthday gift bags etc - we love the new sworld balls. Always exciting to see new things from this brand. Quick shipping, well packed.
