Pure Tupelo Honey is both rare and sought after. Our Florida Tupelo is delightfully fruity with floral notes and balanced with a hint of rich, dried fruit. Its color - a golden hue with a flash of green. Prized for its non-granulating characteristic, Tupelo will almost never crystallize. Tupelo Honey has an earned mystique. Springtime in Florida brings a rush of activity in the Apalachicola River basin of Northern Florida and Southern Georgia. Beekeepers brave the swamps to place their hives on barges within reach of the towering Tupelo tree which will bloom for just a few weeks. Known as Nyssa in Latin, this tree’s name is apt: “Nyssa” refers to a Greek water nymph, and “Tupelo” is of Native American origin, coming from the Muskogee words for tree and swamp.

I absolutely love the honey that comes from The Hive out of Woodland California. if you are ever in Woodland California you have to stop by and visit this place. The food is phenomenal. Plus you get to taste 35+ different flavors of honey. They are a family owned business and been making honey for decades.
