Hi, I'm Manasvi 👋🏽 I was born and brought up in India and moved to the US in 2015 with my husband and 4-month-old. As a young mother in a new country, I struggled quite a bit. Slowly I nurtured my community of friends, found myself again when I started making jewelry. It was the simple things – like doing what I love, decking up my house in warm, vibrant colours and textures, having folks over for Chai, my journaling ritual – that helped me feel at home. So, as I set out to create Surmeyi, one thing was crystal clear: I want it to be a connected brand. And I wanted to create products that empower people to feel at home in their own skin and evoke and embrace their unique sense of belonging. When we are comfortable in our own skin, we have the power to embrace the unknown. Be it a piece of jewelry which gives you all the feels as you adorn it, or Qalam - our journaling pen that turns thoughts and emotions into words on paper. We envision surmeyi as an intimate part of your daily rituals. Surmeyi is like a dear old friend who is there to ground you, bring you joy, inspire you and remind you to stop and smell the roses. Surmeyi is more than just a business. We think deeply about our impact on the society, the environment and the lives we touch. We work responsibly to do what's right and strive to further Indian craft traditions. We carefully select materials like recycled brass and sterling silver for our jewelry and organic fabrics and dyes for our packaging.
