Kim S Joy is a stained glass artist who also works in found objects. Growing up in Upstate New York, I was intrigued by glass insulators after I found a pile of them off the side of the road in my small home town. I collected them for years. Some are in excellent condition while others show the hard years that have passed. Each is unique to itself and may have cracks which do not affect its ability to be used, some do have slightly rough lips. The patina of being buried for years is still on many. When I moved to North Carolina I saw many old tobacco barns being torn down and thought the insulators would compliment the wood somehow. And so was born the Tobacco Barnwood Insulator Candleholders. They look great indoors or on the patio outside. Read their story
