Lisa Ila Rocha, is a Chicana Jewelry Designer who was born & raised in Pico Union. At the earliest age of 7 years old, she would play in her Grandmother Auroras Garden, designing earrings out of the dangling flowers. Lisa is a Mother of two Teenage daughters, Ila & Lucy. During the late 90's, Lisa studied Jewelry Design & Chicano Studies @ Pasadena City College, where she landed her first Jewelry Designing job with Wasabi, Dana Kellin & A Getty Museum Marrow Internship, to both Directors at Self Help Graphics & The Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena. Thru the late 90's , Lisa became a part of Mecha at PCC, where she helped create Mujeres de Maiz and became an Artivist, thru organizing events for various community organizations within the Chicano/Latino Community, all the while building her ilaments Jewelry Brand. ilaments was Founded from Lisa's middle name "ila" which in Hopi means "one who takes on challenges" & merged with the word "ments" stemming from the word " elements" to create "ilaments" Jewelry. Lisa's known for fusing her Unique Chicana Aesthetic with cultural stories, color, and urban style into each design. Over the past 20 years, ilaments has been sold at the Molaa Museum, The Autry Museum, The American Indian Smithsonian Museum in NYC & Washington D.C., The Philadelphia Museum, Clark Art Institute & Boutiques across the U.S. Ilaments Jewelry has been featured in InStyle Magazine, Cosmo Latina, Latina Magazine, Bust,Teen Vogue & has hand created desi
