ERNST Dry Gin is a classic gin. Although we launched it on the market in 2016, the recipe is already over 60 years old. Juniper, citrus and ginger characterize it in taste and smell. It only has 14 botanicals and although it has a decent strength of 47%, it is very soft, which also makes it versatile. The basic distillate is a fine wheat distillate that has been stored for 8 months. Navy Strength, with a good 57%, is called Berlin Strength for us and is based on the same formula. Due to the higher alcohol content, juniper and citrus are even more intense. Lavender blossom and ginger also have their say, which makes it excellent for blending, as it is still very present in several components. The manufactory is located in Wedding. Not the finest, but the most urban, primeval Berlin district north of the city center. Master distiller Ernst Dobislaw kissed the Prussian spirits manufactory (which has existed since 1874) from a slumber after the war and developed the recipe over 60 years ago. This makes gin as classic as it was drunk 100 years ago and will still be drunk 100 years from now. We are very lucky to be able to produce this gin at its old inn, where much still looks the same as it did back then. It is distilled in a vacuum distillation process at 37 degrees over a longer period of time, which makes it so mild.
