Woolpets has been creating 3D needle felting kits since 2007. Co-founder Laurie Sharp discovered her love for needle felting while studying to become a Waldorf kindergarten teacher. Her passion for sculpting with wool and her fascination with the birds and animals of the Pacific Northwest soon led to the development of a successful line of felting patterns and how-to books. The process of needle felting is simple and satisfying. A bundle of wool roving is rolled tightly into a barrel and then poked repeatedly with a barbed felting needle, which quickly binds the natural fibers together.
