Mairi is a candlemaker from Scotland who created the OlaPelu home-fragrance brand by taking inspiration from her childhood home, surrounded by nature, in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. She has sought to capture those qualities in the ethical manufacture of truly special candles that feature only natural, vegan-friendly wax and 100% pure essential oils. OlaPelu's distinctive approach results in a genuinely authentic experience for the customer; no compromise or short cuts. Every ingredient – and therefore every aroma – is derived directly from nature. The result is a range of calming, relaxing and comforting fragrances with aromatherapeutic qualities that invoke magic and majesty for the home spa or yoga meditation. It’s why she's so proud of her brand tagline: Nothing but nature. Mairi has invested in exceptional packaging design work - and won the Rose Gold Award at the International Muse Design Awards 2019, competing against over 13,000 other entries globally. Other winners included BMW and production houses for Game of Thrones. And the name? It’s all about creativity too. It stems from the Gaelic term for oil – Ola – and an acronym of the brand’s cornerstone principles: Pure, Essential, Luxury and Unique.
