Dr. Watson's was contracted by the USFDA in 2014 to test cosmetic products for harmful ingredients. After testing 100 products the results were shocking: Over half of the products contained harmful ingredients and 10 of those explicitly made false labeling claims such as being hypoallergenic. After discovering the poor level of safety in the consumer marketplace, Dr. Watson's committed themselves to creating a line of products that would have clean ingredients and lived up to their claim of being safe. Vanadis Labs’ mission evolved into Engineering Clean Hair Care that NEVER contains parabens, petrolateum, phalates, sulfates, or latex. After working for 2 years and experimenting with over 75 different formulations, Dr. Watson’s was born.
