“Newell Farmlands” is a tucked away town on the south coast of the Island of Jamaica in the parish St. Elizabeth. Throughout the island this parish is known as the bread basket of the country. In this town of Newell lies a muti generational community of agricultural and livestock farmers. Small but formidable, Newell’s sustainable community thrives through cultivation of the rich fertile red soil the area is known for. And here is where we poses our family farm for over 100yrs and is still in operation. Back in the early 1900’s our maternal grandfather purchased the original 90 acres with the money he earned while working in the sugar cane fields in Cuba during the sugar rush of the early part of the century. He eventually grew the farmland to over 1500 working acres becoming the most successful farmer in parish of St Elizabeth. On that land with hundreds heads of livestock he also grew & sold all of the ingredients that comprise the Original flavor. Bell pepper, yellow onion, scallion, thyme, garlic, & scotch bonnet pepper. Over time these staples for cooking developed into a blend of the vegetables remains from the trimmings as not to waste the hard fought fruits of his labor. Over the course of time it became a family staple. Today we are sharing that staple with the world. Coat it on your chicken, fish, beef, lamb & etc or use it to sauté sauce for your vegetables & pasta. We are sodium free, cholesterol free, fat free, no preservatives or artificial flavors.
