Our story begins in the south of France on a crumbling estate dating back to 1791. Co-founder Bertrand Pellegrin grew up immersed in the history of his family and the old chateau which dominates the domaine, a looming mansion that both terrified and fascinated him. However it wasn't until 2014 that he and his partner, Brian Valmonte began developing their own leather bags that were inspired by his family's early history in the tanning and textile industries. "Fonfrège -- the name of the family domaine -- became the name of the brand. Their approach has evolved over time as have their products. Fonfrège is now proud to offer not only their Héritage line of fine leather goods but also seasonal woven totes, as well as fine art, rare books, vintage jewelry, and specialty items they source from around the world.
