This vintage, authentic statue is a figure that was used for "fetish" purposes by Fon people in Benin. The interested person, the owner of it or the person who was using it, would place it in a personal household shrine together with other objects of spiritual significance for the purpose of accomplishing family goals, i.e., to improve health or any other condition the family faces, but in this case to promote fertility and therefore the success of the family.
