CELTIC ASTROLOGY - NGETAL - The Reed - Oct 30 - Nov 27 Symbolized by the Hound People of the Reed tend to be wise and have a knack for scholarship. It's matted and tangled root system made seem like a tree to the Druids, who made their pens from reeds. Because writing was a sacred act to them, the reed had a special significance. People of the Reed are self-reliant, and often have high ideals. They seek out challenges and can have a strong sense of destiny. The spirit animal for this sign is the Hound, whose loyalty to others balances pride and arrogance. People of the Reed need to be aware of this pitfall in life, lest they alienate others. The sign is ruled by the Celtic diety Pwyll, lord of the underworld. It also belongs to the planet Pluto, the most distant of the planets.
