A Chinook is a warm westerly wind that heralds the spring in the western Canada. They are derived from First Nations lore of a girl from the West Coast named Chinook-Wind who marries a Chinook-Glacier but pines for the warmth of her home. Chinooks gently thaw the landscape, helping to cast off the long nights and make way for the first spring flowers and leaf buds. This candle perfectly portrays the Chinook by carrying on the air top notes of blackcurrant, plum, and cherry with a heart of lily, rose, and geranium and base notes of amber, sandalwood, and cedar.
