A Little 'Lotl is an axolotl toy for cats. An axolotl is an endearing little salamander with a perpetual smile on its face, and feathery pink gills. This animal has become a cultural phenomenon, even though it is critically endangered in the wild. This axolotl is handmade by felt artisans in Nepal of 100% pure New Zealand wool, and gets its vivid coloring from azo-free, cat-safe dyes. A Little 'Lotl comes with a 5-foot-long tether that cats can't get enough of. The tether allows cat guardians to get in on the fun, too, by dragging the toy to stimulate a cat's natural hunting instinct. A Little 'Lotl comes in its own zippered pouch, which cat guardians can keep and use to store this special toy when it's not in use. We partner with World Fair Trade-certified, non-profit craft guild to make this toy. Low-income artisans, mostly women, get a living wage and medical benefits. Each axolotl is a just a tiny bit different because it’s completely handmade.
