Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive, or GMPTE, was the public body in Greater Manchester responsible for transport between 1974 and 2011. Covering Stockport, Manchester, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Tameside, Salford and Trafford, the borough had an iconic orange and brown fleet of busses in the 1970s and 1980s.
