Ferocactus Latispinus is native to Mexico. Unlike other species of Ferocactus which are more spherical, Ferocactus Latispinus has a flatten globular shape. The spines are red, wide, curved and flatten, which give this cactus its nickname "Devil's Tongue Barrel", or "Fish Hook". In winter, it produces violet or yellow funnel-shaped flowers.
