Carbomer 980 DH Carbopol Gelling Thickener Carbomer 980 polymer (Carbomer 980 DH Carbopol Gelling Thickener) is a white powder, crosslinked polyacrylic acid that polymerizes in a toxicologically-preferred cosolvent system. Additionally, it is an extremely efficient rheology modifier capable of providing high viscosity and forms sparkling clear gels or hydro-alcoholic gels and creams. Its short flow, non-drip properties are ideal for applications such as clear gels, hydro alcoholic gels, creams, and lotions. Typical use level 0.1-0.5% depending on the type of formulation desired viscosity. Must be mixed and hydrated but requires much less stirring and dissolves much quicker (lt;10 min) than regular carbomer. Furthermore, increasing the pH to gt;6.0, gives a gel structure.
