Local Summer was founded by locals for locals, inspired by the ocean and shoreside life. We started in Asbury Park, NJ, an artsy little shore town that has been called "Punk Rock Hollywood" (by the lead singer of Hawthorne Heights). Bruce Springsteen's home town, and a beautiful blend of grunge and glamour, Asbury Park is a haven for music, artwork, and nature – and of course, is a Jersey Shore surfing hotspot. This town inspired the Local Summer aesthetic: each summer the beach packs up with visitors from all over for a typical shore season.
