WINERY In southwestern Germany, on the Rhine, is Germany's largest wine-growing region: Rheinhessen. Right in the middle is the old wine village of Dolgesheim. TRADITION Wine has been made from grapes in Dolgesheim for more than 1200 years. SOILS The vineyard soils range from light, sandy loam soils to limestone marl to heavy, humus-rich loess soils with an ideal high lime content. VINEYARDS In 2007, the winery was converted to ecological management. The winery is a member of Naturland and is also certified as a Naturland - FAIR - company. WINEMAKING Harvests range between 35hl and 70hl per hectare. The wines are aged with little movement and sometimes fermented spontaneously. The red wines are marketed after a long maturation period.
