Zendō is an all-natural home fragrance brand. We harness the power of nature to help you create your very own moments of zen. A lifelong addiction to buying all sorts of candles finally led us to researching what exactly was in the favourite candles we were burning every day. We discovered that many of the candles we bought from our most loved brands were in fact produced with low-cost paraffin wax - made from the leftovers after crude oil is refined into gasoline which gives off toxic fumes when heated. We also learned that many of our favourite scents are also made synthetically in a laboratory. They’ve been designed to mimic many of our favourite smells from nature, but often contain no natural ingredients. Synthetic fragrances are generally preferred by the industry as they’re much cheaper to produce but carry none of the therapeutic benefits natural products can offer. Since discovering this we’ve been committed to only burning natural candles at home. These are candles that are made from natural, sustainable waxes, but most importantly are only scented with pure essential oils. We’ve been completely hooked for the last couple of years. We love the clean, natural, and refreshing scents that now fill our home, with the added bonus of the wellbeing benefits that our candles can give us. And from this experience …. Zendō was born. Inspired by Japanese Zen Buddhism, a Zendō is a spiritual place inside a temple where sitting mediation is practiced. Read their story
