I started ByLulä after looking for beautiful home decor and candles that didn't cost the earth were vegan, cruelty free and ecofriendly. After learning about the methods used in making conventional paraffin wax candles which usually entail bleaching dioxin; texturized with acrolyn (a known carcinogen); and then mixing it with animal-based stearic acid (a byproduct of the meatpacking slaughterhouses) to harden it so that it can be made into candles, I thought I would venture out and create Lulä. In Tirgrinya Lulä means abundance, and I hope to create abundantly beautiful products inspired by more natural means.
