I began making jewelry after an inspiring trip to the Caribbean in 2013. One beautiful day in June, I ferried from St. Maarten to St. Barth's for a day of exploring. I started at Le Select Snack Bar then stumbled onto a celebrity look-alike taxi driver who took me over to St. Jean's Beach. My favorite part was walking the streets, ducking in and out of small European boutiques. They were full of interesting and unique goods that I have never seen anywhere else. I was in awe of the spirit of the island. I knew then that I wanted to create beautiful things, too, and soon found that jewelry was my place to start. After several years of learning techniques and selling to my friends, it became a business in early 2015. Besides my island obsession, I love flowers, old gardens, architecture, coffee, tea, books, all things design-related, vintage treasures, & my cats. Stella Kate was born as a lifestyle brand for like-minded daydreamers. Each piece is designed and made in my home studio in Surf City, NC, where the brand was born. Stella Kate also has a West Coast influence from our time in San Diego. While there, I learned to solder, drew the current logo, added my signature pink boxes, evolved in designing, and drank tons of boba milk teas in the process. You will find that my designs have a luxurious, timeless feel that flows seamlessly from season to season.
