At the start of our viticultural career, we therefore often philosophized about which direction we want to go. Are we going organic? Or is it common? The idea of not being able to intervene with diseases and pests if you want to grow organically... and thus be able to deliver lower quality wine in bad years has made us think about. Although organic farming may use natural resources, these products do not work adequately. In addition, these remedies also kill natural enemies (our helpers against viticulture pests). This is not what we wanted! The tribal cleaner at work We have decided to go for sustainable cultivation with as little crop protection and fertilizer as possible. That is why we did not opt for the traditional mildew-sensitive varieties, but for mildew-resistant varieties. This already saves a considerable number of sprayings.
