About The Pink Locket

Born in Jamaica and raised here in the United States, Kamilah grew up experiencing the true meaning of hard-work and the importance of pursuing what you love. Kamilah Campbell got her start in jewelry design as teen watching her aunt design jewelry for her jewelry collection called April’s Boutique. She would venture with her aunt to NYC’s Fashion District and spend afternoons going in and out of jewelry beading and supply stores. Then would sit at the kitchen table and create bracelets, earrings and necklaces. After obtaining her MBA in 2007 she became really serious about running a jewelry business. Kamilah defines The Pink Locket's style of jewelry as modern minimalist jewelry. Even though it's minimalistic in nature, the jewelry pieces still make a statement when worn. Each jewelry piece is named after a special inspiring woman who has influenced Kamilah's life in some way. The Pink Locket's have been featured on television shows such as Baby's Daddy, The Fosters and Netflix's Fuller House. In addition, Kamilah's designs have featured in Etsy's Editor's Picks for Black History Month, Design Sponge's Black History Month: 50 Artists, Makers and Brands to Support Always, Essence magazine online. The Pink Locket's work has also been showcased in celebrity gifting suites for Pre-Oscars and Primetime Emmy's.Read their story
