Since 2009, I, Gabriela Labudda graduate designer from Costa Rica, have been designing bags from a wide variety of materials and producing them with my team. We make the bags by hand in our small factory in northern Germany. The first drawings became prototypes and from these we developed our products. The initial fun of the thing turned into a burning love for creativity and the joy of its implementation. In 2009, we started our shop with the idea of designing bags. We felt our way through the use of a wide range of fabrics, paper, felts, tarpaulins and types of leather in order to continue to improve today in terms of materials and quality. Our high-quality products are very important to us, which is why we pay particular attention to their texture when selecting materials and how they complement each other in terms of design, structure and functionality. Manufactica is made up of Manufactura and Tica. The words tica and tico are synonyms for everything coming from Costa Rica, where tico is the masculine form and tica is the feminine form. In this way, my work connects with my origins. Based on intensive research and personal advice, we select our raw materials from local retailers in terms of origin, processing and sustainability.
