Hi, Im Ruchita, architect turned block printeur! i was trained as an architect and have worked as one for years, but decided to revisit my first love-block printing :-) After having kids decided to take a little break from architecture and print a few things in my makeshift studio at home while the babies took a nap, made a few scarves, my neighbors and friends loved it and here I am now 10 years later, owner and designer and part time printer at Peepal tree I design and make products that are printed using hand carved wood blocks, its an ancient craft of printing on fabric and or paper, using natural dyes and natural fibers. They are all unique as they are hand printed and handmade, no two are alike, that's the fun and charm of these products. I work with a co-op in India that are 6th generation printers, dye-ers and carvers, it's all done in house with fair trade prices . Peepal tree offers home goods like tablecloths, napkins, tea towels and women's clothes like robes, tunics.
