Super handy tool for embedding studs on your earrings. The size refers to the maximum size of the flat side of the stud. Step 1 Roll out the clay to a thickness of 1.5 mm. You can use a matching thickness gauge for this or use setting 4 (usually) on your pasta machine (e.g., Atlas). Step 2 Use the cutter to cut out the desired number of seals. Step 3 (optional) Attach the stud to the back of your baked earring with a small drop of superglue and let it dry thoroughly. Step 4 Place the cut-out piece of clay over the stud. Step 5 Apply a little cornstarch to the front of the stud tool so the clay doesn't stick to the tool. Step 6 Insert the stud into the opening of the front tool and press it in with a twisting motion. Remove the tool, and your stud is neatly hidden. Step 7 Re-bake the parts according to the manufacturer's instructions. Don't worry, your already baked part can go back in the oven as long as you don't exceed the maximum temperature.
