When people ask me what inspired me to start a slow fashion brand, two things come to mind: mother earth and my own mother. When I was younger, my mum ran a successful business selling sarees, bed linen, and fabrics. Once I grew up and discovered the many problems and inequalities in the fashion industry, as well as the impact it has on the environment, I knew I needed to do something. Combining my knowledge of fashion and fabric with my desire to make a difference, I created Manu The Label – slow fashion for life and sustainable clothing for humankind. And who’s Manu, you ask? Well, she’s my Mum. Like a love song, this brand is dedicated to her.
