About Holy Smoke!

Holy Smoke! is owned and operated by Dave & Lauren Rakowski. It is truly a family business through and through and wouldn't be possible without the help of both their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters...and even their three kids! The Rakowski family has been making smoked meats and cheeses for well over 100 years! But what started as a fun hobby and family tradition, ended up turning into a life-saving business venture at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the start of the pandemic, both Dave and Lauren lost their jobs. With a young family to provide for, and so much uncertainty at that time, they knew they couldn't just sit back and hope for the best. They took a huge risk by pouring their savings into this new venture, but after going through all of the legal ins and outs of food production (and converting the space that was once the kids' playroom into a fully operational and inspected commercial kitchen!), Holy Smoke! was born. Through the success of their tried and true products, Holy Smoke! has grown faster than either Dave or Lauren could have ever hoped for. It now fully supports their family and has enabled them the flexibility to be there for all of life's important events as their children grow up. We hope that you will try out some of our best selling products - our hardwood smoked cheeses - and that we can keep the family tradition going for generations to come!
