Chila Bags is a Colombian fair trade brand founded in 2013 by Laura Chica, a fashion entrepreneur who was inspired by the great love for her country's culture and tradition to create an ethical, fair trade and sustainable brand with great designs. Known for its vibrant colors and patterns, Chila Bags is a well established brand with a wide international presence and a fantastic story behind. We are working personally with the Wayuu women, the artisans who hand make each bag, and have therefore cut out themiddle men, making sure they are fairly paid, and work in good conditions. The popularity of these bags is a great thing for these women who sustain their villages’ economy by hand making these pieces and selling them. Each bag is a labor of love. Chila Bags mixes tradition and innovation: our creative team innovates constantly on the designs, maintaining the ancestral techniques in the process of weaving.
