For 26 years, the founders of Maui Island Secret have worked, lived and played on the island. We have brought many different skincare and suncare products to Maui from the mainland, but never were completely satisfied with what we were offering the island residents and visitors. That is, until we made the commitment to develop our own line of products. The goal was simple... make the best, most natural products possible utilizing the rich resources on Maui and the neighboring islands. We studied the advantages of our native raw materials and hired a world-famous cosmetic chemist to aid in our quest. We came up with formulas for tanning that contained Maui Coffee and Green Tea... products not associated with tanning! We worked for years on the recipes and finally have them perfected. Once we launched our now famous Maui Island Secret Browning Formula in 1999, we knew immediately that our product was superb. The sales were only exceeded by the praise. Subsequent product launches have had similar results. The reason? A commitment to quality and a unique approach to product development. Maui Island Secret products were not born in a lab, but on the beaches of Maui, researched and developed for sun worshippers and active people. Only after the ideas and concepts pass muster from the island people were chemists brought in to perfect the formulas.
