But peat bogs aren’t renewable resources and extracting peat-moss releases tons of carbon into those ecosystems. Instead, we’ve developed our blends with sustainable alternatives. BIOCHAR POWERED Biochar is made from upcycled plant waste. The result is a material that looks a lot like charcoal. It’s black and almost fluffy, creating a similar environment to that of peat moss, while being sustainable. Biochar not only holds more water and nutrients, but stores carbon, too. NET CARBON NEGATIVE Unlike peat moss, which releases C02 into the atmosphere, biochar stores carbon in the soil. The result is an end product that’s net carbon negative.
