At Approved Textiles, we make visible mending easy, beautiful, and accessible—whether you sew all the time or haven’t picked up a needle since grade school. Our water-soluble mending transfers are designed to extend the life of clothing while inviting creativity, slowness, and care. Inspired by repair traditions from around the world—like sashiko, kantha, and darning—each pattern is printed on a dissolvable wood-pulp stabilizer (no microplastics!) and packaged in compostable paper. Just press on, stitch through, and rinse away. We’re based on historic Fabric Row in Philadelphia and proud to be a queer- and trans-owned business rooted in sustainability, handwork, and storytelling. Our transfers are a natural fit for sewing shops, where customers are looking to personalize garments, practice hand stitching, or dive deeper into slow fashion.
