About The Casual Bookbinder
Hi! I'm Carla and I am a bookbinder based in Atlanta, Georgia. From a kid, I was mesmerized by journals and stationery. After settling in Atlanta and soon after meeting a wonderful calligraphy and bookbinding instructor, I fell in love with bookbinding. After gifting some pieces at a holiday gathering, I received many compliments and inquiries about pricing. After these interactions, the intention was set to create my company The Causal Bookbinder (formerly Harper + Charlotte Handmade Books). While learning the basics of bookbinding to create solid, long-lasting structures, I was exposed to many alternatives to using large bulky equipment that is common in commercial binding. I embraced the minimalist style and coined the moniker, "The Casual Bookbinder." I am more than happy to create handmade journals worthy of your experiences!
