A matter close to the heart. Who are the people behind Ecobain? There are Ermine, Sevcan, Gülay and Rukiye, for example. The cloths are woven on traditional looms in the heart of Turkey, knotted and tied by hand. Each knot is unique :-) With my direct partnership with local families, I guarantee fair and social working conditions in which the women earn money independently. This helps to further develop women's rights (power to the women!) and supports SMEs. Here in Bad Homburg, my two children and my husband help me by packing, helping with photography, and giving me ideas and the necessary support in the “home office” — and have been doing so since 2018: Thank you! How did it all start? It was actually quite a spontaneous action. I myself am a passionate sauna enthusiast. In my hometown, there is a very good one, with an attached hammam, i.e. the classic, Ottoman bath. The local Hammam master had brought along some hammam towels (so-called pestemals) from his home country and advertised them. And that's when it hit me. The wipes are practical, lightweight, space-saving and absorbent. As a mother of two children, I had direct benefits — the bathing bags were lighter and the washing machine only half as full ;-) The lower weight with the same absorbency as terry cloth saves electricity and washing powder with every wash cycle.
