Whitney is a 22x published author and multidisciplinary fine artist practicing in the mediums of drawing, graphic design/illustration, painting and collage. She has showcased her work nationally and internationally. Born in Alaska, she is the daughter of a 3rd-generation salmon boat captain and spent every summer working on the Aleutian Peninsula with her family. Whitney spent her primary school years in Mukilteo, WA and later moved with her family to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She attended Duke University on a full athletic scholarship and graduated with a B.F.A. in 2009. After college, she worked for many years as a freelance yacht stewardess in both New England and the Pacific Northwest to supplement her art career. She has been an avid writer since 2010 when she took up blogging and started writing her first children’s book back in the summer of 2018. Whitney's books convey her whimsical imagination revealed through both her writing and fine art illustration.
