About Barkville Bakery
Hi, I'm Kayla Swatzell! I founded Barkville Bakery in 2017 in a small town just south of Kansas City after looking for fresh dog treats and not finding many options. I use as many fresh ingredients, sourced locally as available. My 5 pups - Tank, Scout, Gemma, Atlas, and Molly - are all too happy to be my taste testers. In just a few years, Barkville Bakery has seen huge changes. In 2019, we started our food truck for dogs - the Treat Waggin' - and we moved out of our home-based business and into our new retail space and bakery. However, I still hand roll, cut, and decorate every treat. You can be sure these treats are carefully crafted for your display cases or trays!

The cookie coloring wasn’t as bright and vibrant as I would have hoped. The colors looked really dull. The frosting cracked in many places in the beer cookies. I think if you fixed those two issues you’d have some really cute cookies!

I've ordered twice for holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas). While the cookies are decorated beautifully, and I love that they're individually wrapped, I get them only a couple of weeks or so before the holidays, which doesn't give me much time to sell them. Maybe stores in busier towns/cities would sell more quickly, but I'm in a small rural town, and I would appreciate more time to sell them!
