Hi, I'm Iris, an independent artist. I originally started making pins and cute accessories while living in Tokyo. While living abroad I became immersed in Japanese culture, becoming fluent in the language and jumping at every chance to experience something new. I've always loved cute things, and living in Tokyo I was constantly bombarded with adorable inspiration, which eventually led me to create my own brand, tokyo shojo. My journey has recently brought back me back to my home country of Canada, but half of my heart will forever be back in Japan. Also on the team is my husband Yu, who works behind the scenes and makes sure that everything we produce is accurate and authentic. It's important to us that each design we bring to to life is not only cute but also thoughtfully put together. Our final team member is our beloved bobtail cat, Maple, an endless source of inspiration and relaxation. Read their story
