About Krista Knickerbocker Designs

Hi, I'm Krista, an architect-turned-metalsmith and the woman behind Krista Knickerbocker Designs. I focus on making everyday, high quality, easy to wear modern capsule jewelry. I make pieces that you can easily grab every morning and wear from school drop off, to work, to the gym, and anything in between. I make all or part of each product myself, while outsourcing some steps of the process to ensure a higher. For example, I outsource all plating so that I can make sure my vermeil pieces are truly a thick coating of 14k gold. I got into metalsmithing in a strange way, starting with concrete jewelry pieces. In my previous profession, I occasionally used fine grain concrete to make architectural models, and this material was my gateway to jewelry design. Slowly over the years, I have accumulated skills, tools, experience and confidence. I still offer a few of my concrete pieces. Other than that, I'm a mother of 3, wearer of all hats, design lover and process driven jeweler. And yes, "Knickerbocker" really is my last name. It it took me seven full years of marriage to make that official, but now I have fully embraced it! Read their story
