About Leaf People

Leaf People is plant based skincare for modern life. Founded by medical herbalist Julie Williams in 2003, the brand was inspired by Julie’s deep connection to Mother Earth. From growing up in rural Alaska and learning how to use plants for wilderness survival, learning cross-cultural herbal traditions during her extensive travels abroad, studying under notable master herbalists in the Andes, formally studying botanical medicine in Colorado, and integrating Buddhist medicine-making processes into the production of skincare, Leaf People is a culmination of Julie’s life experiences. Leaf People products marry botanical science with western medical herbalism, effectively providing the skin with exactly what it needs, naturally. From cleansing to treatment, each product features ingredients that are certified organic, ethically wild harvested, certified herbicide/pesticide free, gluten free, and vegan. The extensive line is encompassed by daily facial and body products, a clinical collection for those 35 and older, and a men’s line. All products are packaged in a mix of recyclable and compostable materials printed with vegetable and water based inks. Leaf People products are formulated on site in the company’s Carbondale, Colorado headquarters using the highest production standards to preserve the integrity of ingredients. Read their story
