FAMILY BUSINESS AND SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE Driven by the family entrepreneurial spirit and founded in 2007 by Chantal Van Winden, her husband, Raymond Durivage, and members of their family, Oliméga has always strived to perpetuate and develop the farm with as the primary objective, respect for the terroir and constant improvement. As farmers, we are very concerned by the respect for our environment, for our own health and also to maintain the richness of our soil which the quality of our camelina crops depends on. As a result, we practice a reasoned agriculture with the respect of nature. We intend to respect our terroir at its most and to intervene as little as possible. The farm produces conventional camelina sustainably. MADE IN CANADA – All our products are made from the camelina sativa plant, commonly known as False Flax or German Sesame. Everything is produced and manufactured by the farm in Québec. Camelina sativa has been consumed and cultivated since 8000 years, and nearly fell into oblivion by the end of the 19th century. In the recent years, the plant has been experiencing a revival in Northern Europe, due to its outstanding health properties (polyunsaturated fatty acids/omega-3). Furthermore, its unique and refined taste has made it become a sought-after product for chefs and foodies.
