About Meloca Designs

Meloca Designs is a craft company that creates modern cross stitch kits and needle minders. We were established in 2017 by Megan Louise Caines, from her love of arts, crafts and stitching. Her previous studies in A-Level Art, Design and Textiles, as well as her degree in Business Studies have all contributed to the success of Meloca Designs, which originally started as a one-woman band but grew to a three-person team in 2021! Our designs are crafted in our home studio in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Our cross stitch kits include high quality, hand-cut DMC thread and Sampedro aida fabric. One of Meloca Designs’ very first cross stitch kits was a Custom Character design, which was completely personalised to allow people to stitch a ‘cotton’ version of themselves and their loved ones. Since growing as a company, this has evolved into our ‘Melocharacters’ series, which are cross stitch kits that include a range of human and pet body templates that people can easily customise themselves to recreate themselves and their loved ones – there’s even a wedding edition! All of our designs are suitable for beginners and experienced stitchers alike. Our most popular product to date is our stunning Mandala Elephant Cross Stitch Kit – it has even been shortlisted by the Craft Business Awards for the ‘Product of the Year’ Award 2021. There is also a matching Mandala Elephant needle minder that complements the cross stitch kit and adds to our growing number of stitching accessories.Read their story
