Our brand began in Lesotho, Africa’s Mountain Kingdom. Our founder Edward Wycliff was a Peace Corps Volunteer when he started training remote communities across Lesotho to sew bow ties with the traditional Shoeshoe fabric, and the brand evolved from there. Wycliff brought the company to streets of Mew Orleans, selling ties and handkerchiefs out of vintage suitcases on the famed Frenchmen street, and traveling back and forth to Lesotho to work with more communities throughout the Mountain Kingdom. Since 2015, Wycliff worked his way into the most renowned festivals in New Orleans, but always dreamed of building a wholesale presence to allow the expansion of the Lesotho production teams. The COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. Wycliff pivoted and virtually trained his team to sew thousands of masks, becoming the most widely distributed masks throughout New Orleans, and even designing collections for a new seltzer company and the “Mask Up Yall” PSA for the sttte’s health department. We look forward to getting back to our roots, and looking ahead to new and higher end designs in both men’s and women’s apparel, as well home decor. Most importantly, our mission has always been creating opportunities for the Basotho people to share their culture through textile, and bring beautiful handmade creations to our customers worldwide.
