“Opening an old suitcase, whose existence I hardly remembered, I found myself overwhelmed by an avalanche of old fabrics from my father's company: Tessitura Serica Bini, one of the best known companies textiles of the last 50 years. With them, memories, emotions, so many moments of my family and my life that have rekindled that desire for charm, that desire to dream. And since “dreams are desires”, here they are revived in a small collection made of colors and magic that I hope will once again fascinate with its timeless beauty.” The Bini silk company was born at the hands of Armando Bini, in 1930 in Como where the production of initially plain fabrics began, after a time as a fabric dealer in Florence. Armando's son, Sergio, took over the silk company, giving a new touch, dedicating himself to the production of printed fabrics, creating a new imprinting for the company flanked by a printing house since 1971. The designers of the time, fascinated by printed fabrics, indicate the Bini silk company as an inexhaustible source of ideas and creativity. Sergio was the point of reference for most European and Italian designers, such as Karl Lagerfeld, Gianni Versace, Sonia Rikyel and many others, who turned to him, to create and experiment new prints for their collections. The company closed in 1984. Stefania takes up her father's fabrics and in 2009 she begins this new adventure.
