About The Brand: Mixtape Your Life is a brand that is influenced by the art of creating the perfect mixtape. A lot of thought goes into creating the right blend of tracks that convey the message and mood of the mix you are crafting. Brand creator and one woman show Melissa Lyn would spend hours in her youth at her trusty cassette player (and years later, her CD burner and then her laptop) blending songs together from her wide music collection. Just like making the perfect mixtape, fashion also becomes a wearable "mixtape" of assorted "tracks" of accessories and garments that we choose to convey the mood and theme we want to present to the world. Our own personal style mixtape may change from one day to the other, depending on the occasion. Influenced by counter culture, music, cinema, pop culture, theatre and DIY trends, Mixtape Your Life pulls from references from these worlds to provide edgy, sometimes NSFW, quirky and fun pieces.
